A little 5 AM doodle for *kennasaur, because after her recent sketchdump of Jane ( ) and several bad leg jokes later, I had to draw her significant other in his D&D iteration. To be honest? I like him better as a D&D character than a Sailor Moon one. He's much less ... angry. Goofier.

So yeah. I don't know if it's visible here but I was playing around with different body types? He's much more barrel chested than I normally draw my guys, but I feel I probably didn't exaggerate enough.

So, some notes about Basil Steadfast:
• Comes from an old money plantation in Port Grimaigne--basically this world's equivalent of New Orleans.

• Brother Sage is kind of a bum that lives off of his parents' money. Sister Rosemary has about a dozen kids.

• His mother is constantly trying to push Jane into being a socialite. Jane is ... less than impressed with the hoop skirts, just saying.

• Ex-soldier turned private detective when he discovered his home government was corrupted.

• Equal rights activist for non-humans

• Began his relationship with Jane when they both tried to stop a bar brawl. She mistook him for the person who started the fight and punched him in the face. Broke his nose, too. It was love at first sight.

• Loves colored leggings. Loves. Them. Jane does not approve of his more colorful choices, like bright red or purple.

• Buys Jane very practical gifts, like a spoon that serves a never-ending supply of gruel.

Young Steadfast is apparently much less hueg Steadfast!

...Not that this is a bad thing, mind--less likely to be able to throttle smaller, shrimpier swordsmen!

Actually I've decided this is Steadfast circa third grade. ;p

And by smaller, shrimpier swordsmen, we mean Kier. :P

I've been trying hard to get a cosplay and new art for the convention 2 weeks from now. On top of that I've had a wedding, baby shower and work to also stuff in there.
